Ana Confirmed Magistrate

And now its official.

Ana Rokomokoti is to be become a Magistrate (see FT article "Former Army Lawyer For The Bench").

She will be sworn in by the poser of a CJ Anthony Gaytes (no that's not a typo).

Her appointment was today publicly supported by former boss and coup Mastermind Col. Mohammed Aziz (another muslim connection?).

Interestingly, Ana is publicly defending her appointment as one based on merit. At the end of the day however it is the Judicial Services Commission who should be making that claim - not her.

In fact, it sounds very lame and pretentious coming from her.

Or maybe, the JSC are not saying it because they know its not true.

They know that Ana's appointment was made only because King Bai wanted it - and King Bai always gets what he wants.

Sorry Ana.

The people of Fiji are not stupid - we can see right through your web of lies.

Ana, well done on your published qualification/achivements and wish you all the best on your new appointment. however, you will be remembered as someone who supported and was also part of the illegal overthrow of a democratically elected government, add that to your long self promoted 'resume'. i bet one day you will regret the latest blunder you have committed towards your career when justice is done. hopefully your lovely family will not be affected in the process. fiji is watching the conclusion of your career, all the best.

Well I be damned. Doesn't she look like a part Indian. She sure do look like one eh? Well I won't be suprised if she really is one. Well, on her appointment. Based on merit my longest finger, dahhhhhh, your comments does not carry any weight at all.

Hey people c'mon...let's not stoop to gutter level....

Let her actions speak for themselves....

I'm sorry but NO.

No allowances are tolerated for unprincipled decisions.

What's good for the goose (Frank) is good for the gander (Ana, Bernadette and the whole bang lot of them).

From where I'm standing her actions have spoken loud enough thanks...and I hate that my taxes are going towards her UNJUST salary. There are more deserving officers of the court but NONE OF THEM applied because they had more sense to know that their legal reputations are now tied to this illegal regime.

Enjoy it while you can Major Rokomokoti because those that rush up the ladder find out soon enough that the fall from those perches make harder falls.

...and she was chosen on "MERIT" after all...

Hey you know, she's got a family to feed like the rest of us....so leave her alone. if she is making money from an honest day's work, who are we to dis her?

What a joke! Here is someone appointed to a position where she will have to make high standard judgements of right and wrong on the public cases presented before her. But she has already empirically demonstrated her own complete lack of judgement by failing to resign from the military's treasonous clean-up coup of 5th December. Not only that, but by implication of not resigning from the military from 5th December, she is likely to be guilty of a whole range of crimes from misprison of treason through to aiding and abetting a capital crime.
And yet somehow this highly dubious, if not disgraceful, person has the gall to want to sit on the venerated bench of our Magistracy.
Who could seriously respect such a judge, or any of her judgements?

to anony 11.29 am:

If I front up to her as an accused dissident according to the Interim Government, I would be very concern of her conflict of interest in hearing my case.

So, would you call that an honest days work?

To anon at 12.29 - you are confusing doing a full day's work and whether you will get justice.

If you are charged with some sort of offence such as unlawful assembly and you front up before her - what you do is YOU ASK HER TO RECUSE herself.

In other words, you tell her that you think that justice would be better served if your case were heard by another Magistrate.
